I first listened to Sigur Rós courtesy of a free cd fom the NME entitled: ‘Come On Try Young’, released on 12/2/2000. It held the track: ‘Sven-G-Englar’. A little later my elder brother bought the album and it was worked like a rabid hamster in a cage. I slept with it playing in the hope I would sleep into it. I shared a room with my elder sister for a time. I think she liked it too. I would often hop skotch the creaking floor boards of the hall late at night with minor panic in an effort not to wake her only to happily find it’s echoing melody already awake.
